Novolog also known as an insulin aspart, is a fast acting insulin drug that usually starts to kick in just 15 minutes quickly after it gets injected into the arm. If you are not familiar with the effects of insulin, it is actually used to lower the blood sugar of those people who suffer from type 1 or 2 diabetes.

History
Novolog was first created through advanced DNA technology so that B28, amino acid, which is a normal proline is replaced with a acid residue. This categorization was included into the genome yeast. According to JDFR, the aspart insulin was favored for trade in the United States by the FDA in June of 2000.
Medical Use
As mentioned above, Novolog is generally used as a fast acting insulin, which lowers the blood sugar of those who suffer diabetes. It works by injecting the drug into the arm and works within 15 minutes after the drug has been injected in to the arm, starts to kick in fully after an hour, and continues to work for 2 to 4 hours. This medicine is usually used together with an intermediate acting insulin along with a long acting one, and is used by adults and children who are at least 2 years of age with diabetes mellitus.
