Losartan Prices

Losartan or otherwise known as Cozaar, is a drug that controls the blood vessels in the body from narrowing, thus causing your blood pressure to lower and improve the flow. History

Losartan was first brought into the market by Merck & Co. Inc. under the trade name of Cozaar and is available in the generic form. It was considered the first angiotensin II antagonist to be marked as losartan potassium.

Medical Uses

As mentioned, losartan is primarily used to treat high blood pressure. Other than treat hypertension, it is also used by some patients to slow down long term kidney damage that can be a side effect of those people who are suffering from type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure.

Warnings and precautions

Make sure to consult with your doctor before taking this drug. If you have a history of allergies, tell your doctor if you have any of these signs: difficulty in breathing, swelling in your throat, tongue, lips or face.

If you are encountering any of these side effects, call your doctor right away:

  • Pain or burning when you pee.
  • Pale skin, light-headedness, rapid heart beating, shortness of breath.
  • Wheezing and chest pain.
  • Swelling, weight gain, urinating less than usual.
  • High potassium, which is an indication of weak pulse, muscle weakness, slow heart rate and tingly feeling.
  • Confusion, mood changes and increased thirst.
