History
Lexapro was first developed between Lunbeck and Forest Laboratories, who worked in close cooperation. Then, around the summer of 1997, both laboratories initiated the drug’s development. Finally, the resulting new application was submitted to the FDA in March 2001 for approval.
Medical Uses
Lexapro is a drug used to treat severe depression disorder found in young adults and adults and generalized anxiety disorder in adults. In addition, it treats several anxiety disorders, including general and social anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, and agoraphobia.
