History
Glaxo Wellcome, now known as GlaxoSmithKline, discovered Cialis under a partnership with ICOS Corporation. Their aim was to develop a new drug, and they started working on it on August 1991.
ICOS scientists recognized the potential usefulness of IC531, a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) enzyme inhibitor, for treating ED. In 1994, ICOS received a patent for the compound and began with the clinical trials in 1995. The trials progressed over the years.
Menehile, changes occurred in the companies involved in the studies, development, and commercialization of tadalafil. In 2007, Eli Lily got the ownership of Cialis. The company continued working on the drug until further development took place.
It was October 6, 2011 when FDA approved tadalafil to treat symptoms and signs of BPH and a condition where it co-exists with ED.
Medical Uses
Cialis is for patients suffering from ED and BPH. You should take it once a day and follow your doctors directions.
If you’re taking it for ED, take the drug just before sexual activity. After a certain period of time, the drug can help you achieve an erection.
Warning/Precaution
Do not take it more than once a day. Swallow the tablet whole; do not break or split it. You can safely take it with or without food.
Also, stop and immediately call our doctor if you experience the following during sexual activity: nausea, numbness, pain, and tingling in your jaws, neck, chest, and arms. You should likewise tell your doctor if you have certain health conditions and illnesses.
